Supervise and coordinate the staff and activities of cardiology telemetry technicians. You will also ensure adherence to JCAHO and departmental policies and procedures.
Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff. Ensures competencies are maintained and performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
Participates in the development of policies and procedures to ensure excellent customer service and standards of patient care. Implements performance improvement plans.
Monitors quality of work and performs quality audits.
Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational service and meet department goals.
Identifies training needs for staff and conducts in-service training, as appropriate. Demonstrates and explains difficult or new techniques and equipment.
Ensures staff adheres to infection control protocols, JCAHO and departmental policies and procedures.
Maintains appropriate usage and par levels of stock and equipment. Investigates and makes recommendations regarding new equipment or supplies. Orders supplies and maintains inventory in a cost effective manner.
Monitors equipment, troubleshoots mechanical problems and performs minor repairs, as necessary. Ensures cardiac and other monitors are safe, effective, and documented according to policy and procedure. Coordinates service arrangements with vendors, as required.
Performs the duties of Telemetry Technician, as needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimum of three (3) years progressive related clinical experience in EKG and/or Telemetry to include experience in a leadership role, required.
Ability to communicate effectively and foster an environment of excellent customer service.
