Job Description


Plans, organizes, and coordinates procurement for major capital projects. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary project team members to align procurement activities with capital project goals.


  1. Participates on multi-disciplinary major capital project team throughout all phases of project.

  2. Collaborates with business stakeholders to develop detailed list of equipment, furnishing, supply, service and configuration needs for project.

  3. Develops equipment plans and procurement budgets for capital projects including costs associated with purchase, transportation, storage, installation and other related factors.

  4. Monitors consultant equipment planners, and provides guidance on equipment standards, Health System practices, etc.

  5. Ensures project alignment with Health System standards and related regulatory guidelines.

  6. Provides guidance, assistance and coordination regarding Procurement efforts for formalized competitive bidding.

  7. Uses expense reduction strategies while ensuring quality of products and services.

  8. Identifies and evaluates existing inventories for potential refurbishing, relocation and reuse. Incorporates approved items into project equipment plan and budget.

  9. Collaborates with Alliance GPO team members to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and facilitate purchase and delivery.

  10. Ensures alignment of Alliance GPO budget and schedule with overall major capital project budget, schedule, and specifications.

  11. Liaises with materials and logistics vendors to assist Project Management in coordinating delivery and installation of equipment and furnishings.

  12. Provides Project Management with plans and checklists for tracking and reporting completed equipment ordering, deliveries, installation and acceptance.

  13. Reports supply chain activities, expenditures and encumbrances to project team/ management to ensure monitoring of opened purchase orders and receiving reports.

  14. Creates and maintains related records in accordance with department, project, and regulatory guidelines based on standardized project templates.

  15. Creates, maintains and updates standardized templates of equipment complements and specifications in accordance with Health System standards and contracts.

  16. Performs related duties as required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years healthcare equipment planning experience, required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, required.

  • Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills, required.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural and mechanical drawings, from schematic to construction documents.
