As Disaster Recovery Analyst you will support the development and maintenance of Northwell Health System enterprise disaster recovery program.
Knowledge of SunGard’s planning software (AssuranceCM) and Notification tool (AssuranceNM) preferred
Assists in design and implementation of the health system's enterprise disaster recovery management program, including policies, maturity models, and methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, metrics and scorecards for all components of the program.
Coordinates, assesses and communicates recovery requirements associated with the current data center environment and participates in new, cross functional activities as assigned. Makes recommendations for improved data center recovery planning and execution plans.
Participates in projects which are specific to the evaluation and application of technologies including storage mirroring, asynchronous replication, virtual tape libraries, de-duplication technology, network services and data center management software automation.
Participates in disaster recovery test activities. Collaborates with business unit and key IT staff regarding planning, directing, controlling and maintaining effective testing plans.
Performs data center recovery capacity planning in collaboration with IT technology groups to support business units' current, planned and new initiatives. Ensures adequate recovery plans and IT processing environment, as well as accurate and predictive budgeting.
Participates in the assessment of potential disruption in service to help the disaster recovery team determine if and when to declare a disaster as well as with the execution of disaster recovery plans when disruption occurs.
Assists with 'event impact' assessments and disaster declaration activities, as necessary.
Minimum of five (5) years disaster recovery program support experience, required. Health care environment, preferred.
Certified Business continuity Planner (CBCP) or Associated Disaster Recovery Planner accreditation, preferred.
Solid knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies, including risk and business impact methodologies, required.
Strong project management, organization and analytic skills, required.
Knowledge of data processing, data and voice telecommunications, preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management, required
