Assist the physician with transport throughout facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Confirms individual’s readiness for ambulation/transport. Obtains and utilizes appropriate equipment, as required.
Escorts and transports individuals in wheelchairs or related transport equipment to/from and within facility with safety, comfort and dignity.
Ambulates individuals using proper body mechanics. Uses appropriate equipment and/or obtains help when lifting/ moving individuals.
Maintains cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment.
Reports defective wheelchairs or related transport equipment.
Performs messenger duties, as required.
Assists staff in the pick-up and delivery of various materials and/or equipment, as needed.
Tuesday - 11 am to 7:30 pm
Wednesday - 11 am to 6:30 pm
Thursday - 9:30 am to 6:30 pm
Saturday - 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (2 weekend shifts per month)
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Prior related experience, required.
Must successfully complete employer’s training program in transfer/ transport techniques, related body mechanics, safety and infection control policies within probationary period, required.
Ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Willingness to provide front desk support preferred
