This is a per diem Food Service Working at Glen Cove Hospital.
Varied hours and days. Includes holidays and weekends
Performs various tasks relating to the preparation and service of food, collection of food and supplies, appropriate operation of machinery, and sanitation of specific department areas.
Prepares and serves food to patients as assigned.
Prepares and arranges food according to guidelines or tallies.
Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations.
Serves food while accurately filling requests.
Transports food and supplies to designated areas within Hospital or cafeteria.
Delivers food and supplies in an orderly and timely fashion.
Collects used carts or trays and returns them to the kitchen.
Maintains a sufficient amount of each item to support needs.
Operates machines used in the preparation of food or sanitation equipment and work area.
Uses equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Operates pot, tray and pressure washers according to procedures.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Mops floors, cleans equipment, utensils, work and service areas, using required detergents and germicides.
Refrigerates and labels perishable food.
Stores all supplies in an orderly fashion.
Performs related duties, as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Prior food service experience, preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively.
