As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will manage, plan, organize and evaluate the staff and activities of Integrated Distribution Center (IDC) warehouse. You will develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations. You will monitor and evaluate operations to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborates with IDC management to develop an overall operational plan including; staffing, hours of operations, materials flow, work processes and procedures, task descriptions, warehouse layout, inventory control, AIMS procedures, employee health and safety policies, quantitative risk assessment (QRA) policies, maintenance plan, supplies, equipment, etc.
Utilizes Lean Six Sigma principles to establish safe and efficient operations including; development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), talk boards, 5S concepts for function and warehouse areas, etc.
Collaborates with staff to develop requests for proposals (RFPs) for vendor contracts including; transportation, utilities, trash, maintenance, repair, grounds, supplies, equipment, etc.
Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; and oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.
Assists in developing training and orientation programs for staff.
Provides technical guidance and demonstrates expertise to improve staff performance and effectiveness.
Identifies quality and service-oriented customer solutions and shares key information with staff.
Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies.
Recognizes developmental needs and capability gaps in operational areas and arranges specific projects/assignments to address needs.
Assists defining strategic plans for work team/job function or key product(s)/service(s).
Reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
Manages resources and expenses such as hours and inventory to assist in meeting financial budget goals.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Knowledge of Business Management and Material (Supply Chain) Management as normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible multi-complex distribution experience including prior supervisory experience.
Strong communication skills, leadership skills, detailed oriented, quality focused, self motivated and the ability to work in and promote a team driven environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office PC applications.
Ability to apply expertise to solve standard and non-standard problems.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
